Pharma marketers stand ‘loudly and proudly’ with LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, despite boycotts in other industries

While some consumer companies are curbing LGBTQ+ pride marketing after a rash of extremist targeting, pharma companies are standing firm with traditional approaches to Pride Month in June.

Many companies changed their logos on social media to rainbow colors on the first day of the month as they typically do, and they’re continuing annual traditions of social marketing and media posts, along with planned programs and events for the month, in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

Not every pharma company queried by Endpoints News responded, but a handful of drugmakers, which rank in the top 20 in size, replied with definitive statements of solidarity and commitment to their LGBTQ+ employees but also to the broader community and patients they serve.

Not surprisingly, ViiV Healthcare and Gilead Sciences, both of which are makers of leading HIV and PrEP medicines, reiterated their longstanding support for Pride Month.
